ABSTRACT

The nearly fatal outcome of a case of chloroform sniffing is described. After a brief review of the organ toxicity of chloroform, a potential therapeutic approach is discussed. Inhalation anesthetics should be considered in the differential diagnosis of coma of unknown etiology in the adolescent.
